Partnership Activation Coordinator

Overview:

 
The Partnership Activation Coordinator will work on partnership activation initiatives for the Maine Mariners (ECHL Hockey). Suitable for the role are commercially aggressive professionals who have a track record in the sponsorship space of working on the delivery and execution of high value deals with creative activation strategies intertwined. This individual will oversee all aspects associated with the implementation, activation, reporting and delivery of assigned partnership accounts and is responsible for the day-to-day management and execution of partnership elements, maintaining a deep understanding of each partners’ marketing goals and business objectives as they evolve over the life of the partnership.
 

Responsibilities: 

 
·       Oversee Day-to-day management, activation and development of assigned Mariners partners
  • Manage a portfolio of sponsors’ contractual elements, including but not limited to traditional media assets, in-market promotions, in-arena activation, hospitality, experiential, and community programs 
  • Develop and deliver effective and measurable sponsorship platforms for sponsors by managing expectations, communicating timelines, and ensuring contractual asset fulfillment 
  • Use a variety of methods and resources to creatively engage with, and enhance partner relationships, using industry knowledge and brand awareness to overcome challenges, create business opportunities, and exceed company objectives 
  • Collaborate with Director to develop a template and plan per sponsor to demonstrate ROI of marketing partnership initiatives and oversee development of mid-year and year-end partnership recaps and case studies. 
  • Collaborate with internal (ticketing, marketing, legal, finance, etc.) and external (Arena Operations, Signage Vendors, etc.) stakeholders on partnership initiatives and needs 
  • Manage internal and external partner expectations on processes, timelines, approvals, and deadlines 
  • Contribute to overall department revenue goals through current sponsor partnership renewals and upselling opportunities 
  • Serve as on-site, point-of-contact for all activations taking place within the Maine Mariners partnership portfolio 
  • Regularly conduct market research to keep current with partner news, best practices, industry trends and activation concepts 
  • Work with CRO and Director on key category and platform ideation for prospects 
  • Maintain accurate reporting processes, CRM database (Salesforce/KORE), procedures and partner database management 
  • Assist with the planning and execution of partnership-related events throughout the year
  • Assisting marketing department with game presentation needs
  • Collaborate with marketing department on community engagement initiatives
  • Liaison between corporate partnerships and Maine Mariners foundation 
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned 

     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in Marketing or Sports Management). 
  • 1-2 years of professional sponsorship experience in a high-performance sponsorship environment, executing against multiple deals within property portfolio 
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with corporate clients and co-workers. 
  • Creative Problem Solver with the ability to quickly understand brands/partners’ business models and how to grow their business. 
  • Highly driven self-starter, with ability to work independently without supervision, exercise discretion and independent judgment and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. 
  • An excellent communicator and accomplished presenter. 
  • An entrepreneurial mentality, with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and make things happen. 
  • Focused, diligent, hard-working and ambitious. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills. 
  • Trustworthy, loyal and ethical. 
  • Willingness to work the hours required to fulfill the commitments of the role. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce and KORE. Canva experience is a plus. 
  • Excellent written and verbal skills. Proven ability to correctly use punctuation and grammar. Exceptional listening skills. 
  • Possess high degree of integrity, discretion, and professionalism. 
  • Consistent, punctual, and regular attendance. 

Promo Team

Job Summary

This is a part-time position within the Maine Mariners Game Presentation Department. The Maine Mariners Promotional Team staff consists of an energetic team of individuals who are enthusiastic and passionate about the Maine Mariners as well as the game of hockey. The Maine Mariners Promotional Team has two main roles; Promotions Port, and Promo Team.
 

Responsibilities: 

  •  Serve as a member of the on and off-ice promotions team for all Maine Mariners home games as well as at outside events, including community parades, expos, fairs, etc.
  •  Interact with fans in a friendly, professional, and fun manner at the arena and outside events
  •  Assist with mascots pre-game and in-game and at any community appearances
  •  Assist in the creation and execution of theme nights
  •  Create and execute in-game performances, skits, and other between period games 
  • Help build long-term fan loyalty through providing a strong game day experience
  •  Assist pre-game as necessary
  •  Assist in any community events 
  • Additional duties as assigned 


Qualifications

  • Be fun, confident and outgoing
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to skate may be helpful but not required
  • Strong communication skills. Able to communicate and problem solve with co-workers
  • Assist with the set-up, execution and break-down of daily events and/or promotions
  • Flexible availability – including all 36 Mariners home games and any post-season games as well as some weekends and holidays
  • Ability to easily stand and move up and down stairs. 
  • Ability to bend, twist, stoop and reach overhead as needed
  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions including; cold, wind, rain and heat
