OPEN POSITIONS:

Head Coach/General Manager

Qualifications:
 

· Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in marketing, public relations, sports management or other related field preferred but not required

· Minimum 2-4 years coaching experience preferred

· Strong verbal and written communication skills in the English language required

· Strong PC skills required including reviewing and cutting game footage

· Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required

· Superior problem-solving and multitasking skills required

· Ability to work nights, weekends and select holidays, in addition to traditional business hours, is required

· ECHL experience preferred

· Strong and proven ability to recruit players

· Ability to work closely and collaboratively with Providence Bruins leadership

 

Essential Functions:
 

· Ability to create game plans and practice plans.

· Oversee and lead the day-to-day operation at the arena.
 
· Create weekly schedule for staff and players.
 
· Constant communication and willingness to interact with Assistant Coaches, Skills Coaches, Goalie Coaches, Video Coordinator, Hockey Ops, Strength Coach, Athletic Trainer, Equipment Manager, Front Office
 
· Always be available for phone calls or communication – Summer included.

· Constant communication with Hockey Operations Staff

· Oversee and run all salary Cap and roster transactions

· In charge of recruitment, scouting, talking to Providence Bruins, speaking with agents, and closing deals
 
· Travel with team for all games as well as travel to recruiting trips and coach camps
 
· Work behind the scenes to continue to create a better team

· Liaison to ECHL league front office hockey operations

· Comfortable with dealing with the media

Overview:

Joining the team in a stage of rapid growth, you will have to take the Maine Mariners content and digital footprint to the next level. You will work under the Director of Marketing to film, capture, and edit content through our brand guidelines. In this role, you will work collaboratively with the Marketing Department to execute the comprehensive social strategy, working collaboratively with the Sales and Sponsorship Department to create rich, immersive, engaging content that builds community, drives growth, encourages ticket sales and solidifies the brand identity.
 
Everything, everyone, every moment and every launch is a story - it’s your job to tell them in a world-class manner, in every format. Working under the Director of Marketing you will create weekly digital plans for social media as well as all produced digital assets. In season you will create video board graphics, game related files, sales assets, and digital ad suites. This will all be done through the Marketing Department under close guidance of the Director of Marketing. Content, Digital Footprint and Social are integral components of the business – you’re at the forefront of customer experience and breathe life into how the brand is perceived on a daily basis.
 
You’ll become an integral part of our collaboratively entrepreneurial culture of hard work, high energy, sports business professionals. You will be working to capture content at all of our 36 home games. All of the content that we create will help us to build and maintain our digital footprint and continue to grow our team digitally. This work with continue to grow the Maine Mariners brand within the ECHL. 

 

Responsibilities:  

  • Co-develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies and campaigns across TikTok, IG and all social platforms
  • Create engaging, unique, & creative content for all social media channels (TikTok, IG, FB, YT, etc)
  • Generate unique, engaging, high-converting static and video creatives for all social channels
  • Forge and maintain relationships with brand ambassadors, affiliates, creators and micro-influencers to build and grow the Mariners community
  • Create all game day graphics that will go out before our games, as well as post game graphics
  • Create assets that will go up on our in-arena video board for game day content 
  • Help to edit and film video content for commercials, social media, jerseys releases, and theme night promotions 
  • Be a point of content for the Director of Marketing on game days when capturing player and game content
     

 Experience and Skills Required

  • 2-3+ years Professional Content and/or Digital experience with portfolio or clear demonstration of ability to generate creative, engaging content with a point of view, deployed in a meaningfully unique way to drive growth and engagement on TikTok and Instagram
  • Creative, out-of-the-box thinker with an eye and passion for creating and storytelling through video and static content, who’s not afraid to experiment and is in tune with trends, with the ability to spot “content moments”/creative opportunities and execute swiftly on them
  • Be a driven, coachable self-starter with a ready to learn, grow and enjoy the ride
  • Capable of self-managing projects under tight deadlines, while helping to execute the Marketing Department's larger vision 
  • Have a deep understanding of the TikTok and Instagram platforms, best practices, trends, and know confidently how to captivate, grow and engage an audience
  • Have a cross-platform mindset, able to see positioning/repurposing strategies for TikTok content across Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively with our audience, stakeholders and Mariners team members
