PORTLAND, ME – August 12, 2025 – The Maine Mariners announced the signing of goaltender Ethan Pearson on Tuesday. A netminder from Princeton University, Pearson backed up for three games with the Mariners this past March.
Pearson, 23, is from Fredericton, New Brunswick, and finished a four-year college career at Princeton last March. In his senior season, he posted a 2.33 GAA and a .913 SV%, for a record of 7-8-2. Over his collegiate career, Pearson finished with a record of 20-27-4 with a 3.05 GAA and an .891 SV%. He was an honorable mention to the NCAA All-Ivy League Team in 2022-23, when he posted four shutouts as a sophomore. He was also named to the ECAC All-Academic team as a junior and senior.
On March 27th, Pearson signed with the Mariners following Nolan Maier’s call up to Providence. He did not appear in a game, serving as backup to Brad Arvanitis in three games at Reading.

The Mariners 2025-26 season presented by Hannaford, begins on Saturday, October 18th at Worcester with the Home Opener against the Reading Royals on Sunday, October 19th at 3 PM.
