MAINE MARINERS ADD SPECTRUM AS PREMIER PARTNER
Spectrum becomes Official and Exclusive Healthcare Provider of the Mariners
Portland, ME – June 26, 2018 – The Maine Mariners are thrilled to announce Spectrum Healthcare Partners as the third Premier Partner for the upcoming season. Spectrum, who serves over 550,000 patients a year, will provide medical care to Mariners players starting in the 2018-19 season.
Spectrum’s premier partnership as the team’s orthopaedic provider will span a three year commitment to the Mariners. “The peace of mind knowing our players will be in the care of the amazing healthcare professionals at Spectrum is something every coach looks for,” said Mariners Head Coach Riley Armstrong. “We know throughout the season there will be injuries, but knowing we can count on Spectrum to help our players bounce back as fast as possible will help the Mariners succeed in our efforts to not only move players to the next level, but also bring the Kelly Cup to Maine.”
In addition to their premier partnership, Spectrum will also have a community presence hosting the Mariners “Night of Champions” celebration where state championship teams will be honored.
“We’re very proud to have the opportunity to support the Maine Mariners by providing sports medicine and orthopaedic care to the team. Spectrum has some of the area’s top physicians with a unified goal of supporting high quality and cost-effective care,” said David Landry, CEO of Spectrum Healthcare Partners. “This partnership allows us to continue to expand our presence when the team is on the road as well. We are excited about working with both the team and other partners in supporting the Mariners.”
“I can’t wait to be back on the bench when professional hockey makes its return to Maine in the fall,” said Dr. Thomas Murray, of Spectrum Healthcare Partners’ orthopaedic team, “having previously spent time as a team physician in the AHL and the NHL, I’m excited to provide medical coverage for an inaugural team that has experience at the highest level throughout the organization. We hope to keep the players healthy and out on the ice as they look to contend for the Kelly Cup.”
The Mariners, affiliate of the New York Rangers, start play October 13, 2018 as members of the ECHL. The ECHL is the premier AA hockey league in the United States. Season tickets for the Mariners inaugural season are on sale now by visiting www.marinersofmaine.com or calling toll free 833-GO-MAINE.
